The Shekinah Bikeathon is Back!

September 14, 2019 - 9AM
Shekinah Retreat Centre

Thanks to the success of last year, Shekinah's Bikeathon is back - with more options to participate!

People were asking if they could participate in a different way. Many people said they would participate, but they couldn't take the chance of taking an over-the-handlebars "experience" on the graveled portion of the route. Several people asked about hiking. A few asked about paddling.

So ... we created the Bike-Paddle-Hike Athon.

Bikers will collect pledges and bike from Saskatoon to Shekinah. Starting at the Adessa parking lot - just north of Saskatoon on Highway 12 - bikers will travel 70kms to Shekinah. There are rest stops on the way.

There will be safety vehicles and a bike mechanic on duty. We will make sure that your bike will make it to the destination. Of course, if you find that you would like to rest, you can be picked up by one of our safety vehicles.

Paddlers - Canoeists, Standup Paddlers, Tube Floaters, etc. - will start at Petrofka Bridge and paddle / float downstream to Shekinah. This route is on the scenic North Saskatchewan River and is an easy paddle of 2-3 hours.

Hikers, we haven't forgotten about you! You are welcome to come hike the beautiful trails at Shekinah Retreat Centre. Hike as much or as little as you'd like.

Lunch will be provided from 12-1PM.

Please make arrangements to find your own way back home.

Pledge forms are available here.

More information is available here.

Thank you for supporting the mission of Shekinah in this way. We hope it will be a fun and challenging day!
