WHY SHEKINAH?
There are a lot of very good reasons to send your child to summer camp. A Google search of "Why Summer Camp?" will bring up more than 600,000 pages with reasons to get excited about summer camp. You can also read a piece by Rick Mercer, Canadian TV personality, on what summer camp meant to him and his career here: https://www.ourkids.net/rick-mercer-on-camp.php
What sets Shekinah apart from many other summer camps is a small group atmosphere:
Campers stay in our timber-framed cabins, which provide a cozy and welcoming environment. With four cabins able to accommodate 10 campers and two counselors each, everyone can quickly get to know one another—often learning names by the first day! While most of the summer camp experience happens outdoors, our cabins offer a comfortable place to rest and a cool retreat from the heat of the day.
At Shekinah we spend as much time outside as possible:
We make good use of our 287 acres hiking, biking, playing games, and exploring. A highlight for many campers is “overnighter,” where campers hike to camping spots to cook supper, eat s’mores, sing songs, and enjoy the view of the creek-fed ravine below them. Other popular camp activities include canoeing, tubing, disc golf, arts and crafts, archery, camping skills, initiative tasks, climbing wall, and of course our zip line, the Flying Fox!
SHEKINAH counselors are Certified !
All of our counselors have graduated high school and many are currently attending university. They are certified in Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C. All staff running the climbing wall and Flying Fox are certified by the Canadian Ropes Course Company. Shekinah is an accredited camp and a member of the Saskatchewan Camping Association.
At Shekinah Summer Camp, our smaller size creates a close-knit, safe environment where young people can step away from their screen-filled routines, immerse themselves in nature, recharge their spirits, and build friendships that can last a lifetime.
If you or your children are interested in coming to camp, check out the links on this page. You don’t need to be a kid to be at camp! Every year we are looking for counselors, CITs (counselors in training), and volunteers to make summer camp a special experience for children of all ages.
By the way, the food at camp is fantastic!
Thanks to many dedicated - and talented - volunteer cooks, the food is particularly good.
We are looking forward to meeting you this summer !
Which Camp is right for you !
At Shekinah, campers of all ages explore faith through singing, stories, activities, and conversations. Campers have the opportunity to connect with nature, participate in group games, and take on exciting challenges like our Jericho Wall (climbing wall) and Flying Fox (zipline). Mid-week, they will have the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones with an overnight adventure where they will create lasting memories.
DAY CAMP

An emphasis for this week is to have our usual programs (except overnighter) and activities geared especially to them. Your campers will make new friends, try new things, and of course have fun!
Senior Teens: Age 14-18
There is only one week of senior teens camp for campers aged 14-18 (completed grade 9-11). This week looks a bit different every year with our counselors planning new special games while still leaving room for the classics. This week does not have a regular schedule leaving room for surprises and special camp activities. Senior teen’s camp is a great place to make new friends and get reacquainted with old ones.
