Winter Promotion Rate
Timber Lodge Winter Rate Promotion:
Here at Shekinah we have had a very busy summer season which has rolled right into a busy fall. It is wonderful to see so many people enjoying the beautiful views, the fresh air, and the good times with friends and family. However, we still have a fair amount of availability for the winter months and so we are offering a winter rate promotion: weekday prices even on the weekend! This amounts to a discount of approximately 25% off the regular Timber Lodge facility rental rate. If you are interested in hosting your event at Shekinah, contact us at office@shekinah.ca or call 306-945-4929.

NEW Maintanence Manager hired
Welcome home to our NEW Maintenance Manager, Kent Friesen. Kent comes to Shekinah with an impressive resume and skill set that make him a great fit for what Shekinah aspires to. We are super excited to have found someone with ties to our local community to fill this position.

NEW Executive Director
At the beginning of October, Amy Peters stepped into the role of Executive Director (part time) at the Shekinah Retreat Centre. Amy also teaches (part time) at Saskatchewan Polytechnique. She has extensive experience in the outdoor guiding and education fields. Amy has guided groups across much of Canada.

Leadership Transition
After 5+ years of overseeing the place, Executive Directors Ron and Sue Schellenberg decided it was time to move on. We know they have touched many lives during their time at Shekinah and we want to thank them for all of their hard work over the years (especially the Covid years!) and for their dedication to the mission of Shekinah. Through their work, so many people were invited to experience the glory and presence of God.
Here is an excerpt from the statement they left when they finished in August:
“There are a number of things we will miss about Shekinah, but the number one thing is the supportive community that volunteers, fundraises tirelessly, and continues to love this space.
Thank you to all of you for supporting us through the last 5 1/2 years!"
Ron & Sue
As a search for a permanent replacement was underway, a trio of Victor Pankratz, Curtis Wiens, and Phyllis Goertz was put in place to cover the Executive Director responsibilities for an interim term of three months. Following a successful search, Amy Peters was hired to step into the role at the end of those three months.
A huge thanks goes to the rest of our staff here at Shekinah. They do a lot of work behind the scenes and in the public eye! Several of our staff have moved on at the end of the season and we wish them well wherever life takes them.

Summer Camp Wrap Up
We had another wonderful summer inviting new and returning campers, staff, and volunteers to come spend time with us at Shekinah. The summer was full of laughter and learning as we took time for activities, . . .
