After 5+ years of overseeing the place, Executive Directors Ron and Sue Schellenberg decided it was time to move on. We know they have touched many lives during their time at Shekinah and we want to thank them for all of their hard work over the years (especially the Covid years!) and for their dedication to the mission of Shekinah. Through their work, so many people were invited to experience the glory and presence of God.
Here is an excerpt from the statement they left when they finished in August:
“There are a number of things we will miss about Shekinah, but the number one thing is the supportive community that volunteers, fundraises tirelessly, and continues to love this space. Thank you to all of you for supporting us through the last 5 1/2 years!" -Ron & Sue
As a search for a permanent replacement was underway, a trio of Victor Pankratz, Curtis Wiens, and Phyllis Goertz was put in place to cover the Executive Director responsibilities for an interim term of three months. Amy Peters was hired to step into the role at the end of those three months.
A huge thanks goes to the rest of our staff here at Shekinah. They do a lot of work behind the scenes and in the public eye! Several of our staff have moved on at the end of the season and we wish them well wherever life takes them.
